About the Award
The SNA Support & Inspire National Award is a people-powered celebration of the incredible Special Needs Assistants working in schools across Ireland. This is the first national award of its kind - recognising the kindness, care, and impact SNAs have every day in classrooms, corridors, and communities.
SNAs are at the heart of our schools — championing learning, emotional wellbeing, communication, and inclusion every day. It’s time to honour their remarkable dedication.
Who Can Be Nominated?
Any SNA currently working in Ireland, in any type of educational setting — primary, post-primary, or special school/class — is eligible.
How to Nominate
You can nominate an SNA by filling in our short form. It takes just a few minutes to highlight the amazing work of someone special.
Anyone can nominate — students, parents, teachers, principals, SNAs, or members of the wider community.
- Nominations close: 7th September 2025
- Winner announced: 20th October 2025
The Prize
The winning SNA will receive:
- A beautiful Irish-crafted sculpture by artist David Glynn
- A generous prize bundle of gifts
- And most importantly… the recognition they truly deserve

Who can nominate an SNA?
Anyone! Students, teachers, parents, SNAs, school leaders – all are welcome to nominate an SNA who has made a positive difference.
Do nominees need to know they've been nominated?
Not necessarily. You may choose to let them know, or keep it a surprise – either way, we will only contact the finalists and winner.
How is the winner chosen?
Each nomination is read and scored by our diverse judging panel using a clear marking system. The panel then discusses the top-rated entries to agree on a winner (and possibly runners-up).
Is my data safe?
Yes. We handle all nomination data in line with GDPR and do not share personal information outside the judging process.
